Taking a second in the morning
Working east coast hours on the west coast means early mornings.
I set my alarm for about 5:45 a.m. PST everyday so that I am up before 9:00 a.m. EST.
This results often in me rolling out of bed and getting right to work.
Because of this, it is hard for me to have a healthy morning routine.
The days when I’m able to meditate, write or take a morning walk dramatically increases my presence throughout the day.
The morning yields peace and quiet.
If we are able to give ourselves a few minutes in the morning to take in the birds chirping, the sun rising, and the day beginning, we become grounded in what the day has in store.
One my favorite things to do in the morning is go for a walk, grab coffee, feel the day become a live, think, and then go back and journal a bit before starting my day.
Taking a few minutes in the morning can change our day. If we can change our days, we can change our lives.
