Hello my fellow Growers,
It’s Future Prediction Friday and I’m betting that ETH will hit $5K before the end of 2021.
ETH is currently hovering at $2,400 and has a market cap of $280B.
To give some context on how already large this is…
Only 41 companies in the U.S. have a larger than $200B market cap (Largest Companies by Market Cap).
If ETH were to hit $5K, it would have a market cap of roughly $600B. This would be the 8th largest company in the U.S. by the end of this year.
While most people know about ETH at this point, it wasn’t the case just a few years ago. This type of growth is unprecedented in an asset.
The reason why ETH has the potential to continue to grow is that nearly all crypto is built on top of ETH.
ETH is internet money.
If the ETH community continues to build useful applications, it will be the base layer platform for transactions on the internet.
Right now, you need ETH to do most things in crypto.
If I want buy an NFT, I need ETH. If I want to buy some random dog meme currency, I’ll need ETH.
While ETH has been predominately used for NFTs, trading into other currencies, providing liquidity, I think we haven’t yet found the killer application that will put it on the map for the broader public.
My thesis, is that by the end of 2021. ETH will identify a critical real world use case.
I’m not sure what it will be, but I think enough hard core crypto people are starting to overlap with smart money from the real world, and some truly useful applications will emerge.
I think with identifying one killer application that blends into the physical world, we will see mass adoption of ETH.
Full disclaimer ETH could totally go dramatically down from here because the current price is already ridiculously high.
But, I think a ton of smart people are building on ETH and if there are two things I learned it is:
Follow where the engineers are going. They are building the future.
If something is overhyped, it’s probably hyped up for a reason. Don’t shy away from it, lean into it. You’re probably still early and it has a long way to go.
Thanks for Growing with Aidan,
AG
Well said! So interesting to watch it unfold.
Too conservative IMO:)
