How does one stay focused with all the distractions?
Our friends and family become outlets for our free time.
Our phones are dopamine drugs for endless scrolling.
Our minds wander.
How does one get anything done?
A calm and present mind helps with focus
Taking a deep breath will bring you into the present moment.
This can help pull you away from a meaningless task.
A simple breath can confirm if you’re focused on the right thing.
Often times, we are distracted and unaware of our distraction.
Other times, we are distracted and content with the distraction.
The breath alleviates your brain from autopilot.
It allows you to take in the distraction and choose how to proceed.
Being clear on what is worth your focus
Sometimes we are distracted because we don’t know where our focus should go.
Having a to-do list and writing down my key priorities in life, helps me always return to the most essential task.
If I’m doing something that is separate from what I’ve identified, then I am distracted.
By using my breath, I can come back to the present and reorientate myself to a task that is worthwhile.
If we can control our focus, we can control our time.
