An Outlet for Spirituality
I believe as a modern intellectual, its hard to have a strong belief in religion.
Perhaps religion can serve as a way to connect us culturally and set common values amongst our friends, family and new acquaintances…
BUT, as Nietzsche proclaimed at the dawn of industrial age, God is Dead.
Many 21st century humans no longer connect to some higher power (i.e. religion), causing a void in the human psyche.
We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience. - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
As we address our physical needs through exercise, stretching and sports; and our mental needs through our careers, reading, writing, etc.; we need to find new ways to address our spiritual needs.
These spiritual experiences can improve our well being and make us feel more connected with ourselves, each other and the world at large.
